Back In 2008 I started a Diploma in Photography and added a Certificate in Wedding photography adding to my Certificate in Small business management and from there began a journey I had no idea would take me to starting my own photography business. In 2012 after going through a huge life change, I took the leap of faith and took my first paid gig with a wedding. It was a huge deal but an experience I grew so much from and catapulted me into so many more opportunities. From that Photography by Rachel, and the dream of having a Waikato Family Photography business was born.

Ever since then it has been my goal to offer an affordable, quality service that would give as many families as possible the chance to capture their special moments and memories.
Over the past 14 years I have travelled around phototgraphing an array of genres from Weddings, Events, Birthday celebrations, Real Estate, Newborns, Maternity, Business profiles, to Animals, Landscape and much more. I have loved the opportunities these have given me they have introduced me to some fabulous people and given me amazing experiences.
These days, I focus on Waikato family photography sessions, business profiles, and the occasional wedding or event by request.
Outside of Photography by Rachel, I love hiking, running, travelling, and spending time with family and friends — the very reasons that remind me why photos matter.
I’m passionate about offering relaxed, professional sessions that deliver beautiful results without the huge price tag. Payment plans are available for larger bookings, and family sessions on request. I’m always happy to chat about options that suit you.
